Work Experience

1986- Present: Freelance Photographer

Various clients throughout the years. Creative advertising and catalog photography - still lifes, people and interiors. Clients include Waterford Crystal. Equipment used, 4x5, 5x7, 8x10 Cameras, Hasselblad Cameras, Betterlight Scanning back, Phase One digital back, Nikon digital cameras. Speedotron strobes, Various types of continuous lighting sources. Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Golive, Quark xpress, Capture One, Nikon Capture, Viewfinder.

2004-2006: Staff Photographer - The Shadowlight Group

Advertising room set photographer for manufactures such as kitchen cabinetry, appliances, flooring etc. Large format film photography which evloved into a total digital enviroment, phase one with Mac. Responsible for accuracy of color for product and images along with creating a stunning image for advertising.

2004- 2004: Delaware College of Art & Design, Wilmington, De.

Adjunct Photography instructor for Color Photography, Advanced Black and White Craft, and Studio lighting. Created syllabus for class, created lesson plans for each class session, demonstrations on various projects, graded work, shared my passion for photography with the students - also constantly problem solving the students projects.

2003-2004: Bucks County Community College, Newtown, Pa.

Adjunct Photography instructor for Basic Photography. Created syllabus for class, created lesson plans for each class session, demonstrations on various projects, graded work, shared my passion for photography with the students - also constantly problem solving the students projects.

2001-2004: Sky Visual Communications, Philadelphia, Pa.

This company was a design team combining Graphic design, creative art direction, illustration and photography which was offered to business community. The company work as a creative think tank on the concepts for the project and each person would execute their specialty for the project.

1996- 2002: The Franklin Mint Corporation, Franklin Center, Pa.

Senior Advertising Photographer, working closely with art directors and the marketing department throughout the entire project, which begins at a creative brief from marketing and continues with several follow up meetings presenting the concepts and finished pieces to the marketing department. Committee member for Renaissance art show. The photography was of the highest degree possible, all created on 4x5 film in camera - multiple cameras and in camera masking to achieve photoshop effects. Types of product included jewelry, porcelain dolls, bronze sculptures, die cast cars, various high end chess sets. Responsible for the accuracy of the exposures, color, product accuracy, etc. The equipment used was 4x5 Sinar Cameras, Hasselblad Cameras, Broncolor strobe units, MacIntosh Computers, Adobe Photoshop, Quark Express.

1995-1996: Clover / Strawbridge & Clothier, Philadelphia, Pa.

Senior Photographer for Strawbridge & Clothier Department store. Product, still life, photography for advertising - soft goods and hard lines. Types of product included appliances, jewelry, soft goods, housewares. Time sensitive deadlines and high quality of work was the norm, along with working closely with the art directors. Responsible for accuracy of color, exposures, product accuracy. Equipment used was 4x5 Horseman Cameras, Speedotron strobes.

1988-1992: Clover / Strawbridge & Clothier, Philadelphia, Pa.

Senior Photographer - product / still life and fashion photography. Responsible for arranging fashion shoots - locations, models, along with organizing the assistants and equipment needed for shoots. Types of product included appliances, jewelry, soft goods, housewares. Product photography responsibilities were creative ingenuity and direction for the studio. Equipment used - 4x5 Horseman Cameras, Hasselblad Cameras, Speedotron strobes.

1988-1992: Level 3 Gallery, Philadelphia, Pa.

Exhibition Curator- One of the founding members of the cooperative photo gallery. Acted as artist liaison, soliciting artwork along with the scheduling and installing of the shows.

1987-88: JDN Photography - New York and L.A. Based architectural and interior photography

Assisted interior photographer on location shoots. Packed equipment for shoot, loaded vehicle, assisted photographer while on the shoot - various duties included setting of the lights, setting gels for the available light sources, running electricity for the lights, etc.

1986-87: Philadelphia College of Art " University of the Arts" - Graphic Arts department

Assistant Typography Lab Supervisor -Duties included demonstrating graphic arts cameras and various other equipment to the students. There were also administrative duties needed to run the facility such as ordering of supplies, arranging times for demonstrations with the instructors, along with the up keep of the equipment.

1995: MFA in Photography - Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, Ga.

Teaching degree in photography. Recipient of Presidential scholarship.
Studied under: Craig Stevens, Steven Bliss, Tom Fischer.
Studies included Digital imaging & design, advanced black & white printing craft, Zone system, advanced color, Platinum & palladium printing, art criticism, aesthetics.

1986: BFA in Photography - Philadelphia College of Art, "University of the Arts"
